Program of the 17-day Tour

Day 1. Dubrovnik, Croatia 

Welcome to Dubrovnik! Meeting and assistance on arrival at Dubrovnik Airport. Private transfer by bus/car. 

Accommodation at 4 or 5-star hotel in Dubrovnik. 

Leisure time. 

At 6 pm, meet your Tour Director and traveling companions for a welcome dinner at your hotel.

Overnight. 

Day 2. Dubrovnik 

Like a sounding seashell of life, Dubrovnik lies on the shores of the Adriatic, in Croatia. You can arrive in Dubrovnik from all the corners of the earth. Dubrovnik is not a city for one time, it’s a gift for a lifetime. Dubrovnik, once a republic, a city state with a thousand years of liberty. The culture, literature, painting, architecture, philosophy, science, music and diplomacy of Dubrovnik are an irresistible part of the cultural heritage of Europe and the whole world. UNESCO has placed Dubrovnik under its special protection. In Dubrovnik you will become Ragusans, Mediterraneans, people of the sea, if you aren’t already. Without understanding the language, you’ll understand what the birds are chirruping, what the a cappella groups are singing of, you’ll understand that Dubrovnik is love and joy in life under the common sun. 

Breakfast at your hotel. Then you have sightseeing tour of Dubrovnik with personal qualified tour guide. 

Lunch in typical restaurant and time for shopping and other activities.

Day 3. Dubrovnik – Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina – Sarajevo 

After breakfast the adventure continue to Bosnia-Herzegovina. 

There are many fascinating destinations throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina for every type of tourist. Here, the most interesting and attractive sites are a wonderful mix of this tiny country’s cultural and natural heritage. It is almost impossible to separate them, for it is from this pristine nature that its cultures and traditions evolved. 

You have stop in the town Mostar – The town of Mostar is one of Bosnia & Herzegovina’s most popular destinations. With cobblestoned streets, old stone buildings, and its beautiful bridge spanning the picturesque Neretva River, this town looks like it was plucked from the pages of a fairytale. 

Meet your Local Guide and hear about the turbulent history of this interesting city. You will have enough time to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of this fabulous city.

Continue to Sarajevo the capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina, where the 1984 Olympics took place, and the first city in Europe to own an electric tram network.

Day 4. Sarajevo

Breakfast at your hotel. At the 4th day of your trip you will see the beauty of Sarajevo with personal guide. You have visit of Sarajevo Tunnel – built between 1992 and 1995 during the Bosnian War. The architecture of Sarajevo is just as interesting as the history is. You’ll see a mix of grand and ghastly! Like Ljubljana in Slovenia, Sarajevo has lots of fountains sprinkled all over the city. This water is clean and drinkable so fill up! Sarajevo can get very hot from May, so stay hydrated. The most visible fountain is Sebilj Fountain in the Old Town. Take a sip and legend says you’ll return in the future!

Then you have free time for activities by your choice. Enjoy all the beauty of the capital. You can also take advantage of the shopping option. There are plenty of shops ran by friendly locals selling items such as Bosnian coffee sets.

Day 5. Sarajevo – Belgrade, Serbia

After breakfast at your hotel the trip continue to Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. 

One of the oldest cities in Europe and the only one built on the confluence of two rivers, Belgrade is the city that never sleeps and the symbol of great nightlife. The capital of Serbia, Belgrade, is known as “the city that never sleeps”. Floating clubs on its rivers have become synonyms for great parties and neverending fun, and Skadarlija, the bohemian street, for a place where music and singing can be heard until dawn.

And yet, Belgrade is one of the oldest cities in Europe. This “white city” is the only capital built at the confluence of two big rivers – the Danube and the Sava.

Day 6. Belgrade

Breakfast at your hotel. Morning guided sightseeing features a drive to see the main sights, like the Santa Sava Church. Take a walking tour through the fascinating Kalemegdan Fortress, located at the confluence of the Danube and Sava Rivers, and symbol of the strategic importance of the city in the past. For centuries, the city population lived within the walls of the fortress.

Day 7. Belgrade – Timisoara, Romania – Sibiu

After breakfast the trip continue to the beautiful city Timisoara in Romania. 

Timisoara is known as Romania’s most beautiful square, that’s because it is surrounded by places that leave you in awe. Located in the Banat region of Western Romania, it is the also the region’s university and industrial center. It is often referred to as the most cosmopolitan city in all of Romania. 

In Timisoara you will have plenty of time to walk and tour the main streets before continuing to elegant Sibiu.

Lunch.

Visit of main landmarks in Sibiu.

Dinner and overnight. 

Day 8. Sibiu – Sighisoara – Bran Castle – Brasov

This day you will see the most beautiful places in all Romania. The route is extremely pleasant and different. 

After breakfast continue to the mysterious Sighisoara. Enter the heart of Transylvania and stop at the fortified town of Sighisoara, one of the most beautiful and well-preserved inhabited citadels in Eastern Europe. 

Stop in Sighisoara for walk, fotos and lunch in the city center. 

After that you are get going to the Brasov for your overnight stay.

Highlight of the day is visit of the famous Bran Castle and its torture chambers – The Castle, dramatically located on top of a hill was built in the 14th century and has, because of the legends, attracted people from all over the world. 

Later, dinner has been prepared for you in the hotel. Overnight. 

Day 9. Brasov – Bucharest 

After breakfast in the 9th day of your trip you will visit Bucharest. 

Once known as “Little Paris” for its elegant architecture, Romania’s capital of Bucharest is rich with a storied history that merges with its modern identity. The confluence of architecture is dizzying yet fascinating.

In Bucharest you will visit – The old town, Palace of the Parliament, Romanian Athenaeum, Slavrepoleos Church and Revolution Square. This city is amazing and you will not regret visiting it!

Lunch in traditional restaurant in the capital.

Day 10. Bucharest – Ruse, Bulgaria – Sofia 

Breakfast at your hotel. Departure to the beautiful country Bulgaria. 

Bulgaria is situated at a crossroads which have been linking East and West for more than two millennia. Its lands have known many civilizations: Tracian, Slav, Roman, Byzantine, Proto-Bulgarian, Ottoman… 

Bulgaria loves the arts and gastronomy. It loves life. It will captive you with its museum towns and monasteries, its forests and mountains, ringing with the enthralling sounds of Orpheus’ lyre, Pirin whose snow-capped peak shines like marble, the wild Rila Mountains and the mysterious Rhodopes. 

Born 7000 years ago and preserving unique architectural monuments, the Bulgarian capital today is a genuine treasure trove for those who value antiques, blending harmoniously with the city’s modern appearance.  

You have stop in Ruse, Bulgaria’s most important river port, nicknamed “Little Vienna” because of its neo-baroque and neo-rococo architecture.

Arrive in Sofia, proud capital of Bulgaria.

Day 11. Sofia

Breakfast at your hotel. Sightseeing tour of Sofia, incl. Vitosha Mountain panorama view and walking tour. 

Optional shopping at the Vitoshka Boulevard, strewn with many shops of famous brands.

Day 12. Sofia – Rila – Thessaloniki, Greece

Breakfast at your hotel. After that departure to impressive Rila Monastery. Head south to reach the village of Kocherinovo, from where a scenic trip takes you high up towards the RILA MONASTERY, a beacon of the Bulgarian nation during a half-millennium of Ottoman rule. The monastery is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and, throughout the centuries, has always been the spiritual, educational, and cultural center of Bulgaria.

Continue through the Struma Valley, Spartacus’ mountainous homeland, before crossing the Greek border and arriving in Thessaloniki.

Day 13. Thessaloniki – Meteora – Kalampaka

Breakfast at your hotel.

This day is designed for Greek mainland and our trip continue to famous Meteora. The Greek word means “suspended in the air” and this phrase aptly describes these remarkable Greek monasteries. What created this rare geological phenomenon is one of the mysteries of nature and there are many theories though they remain theories and none have been proven. But as amazing a marvel of nature as these giant rocks are the buildings on the top of these are a marvel of man and seem just as miraculous and make Meteora one of the most spectacular places to visit in Greece.

Dinner and overnight at Kalampaka town.

Day 14. Kalampaka – Thermopylae – Delphi – Athens

Breakfast at your hotel. Our road passes through the gorge Thermopylae on the way to Athens. 

Arrival at Athens, where you have free time and lunch in typical Greek restaurant. The people of Athens are extremely friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious and interesting to try.

Day 15. Athens 

After breakfast in your hotel, guide tour of Athens and its biggest landmarks. 

Arguably the most important landmark in Greece is the celebrated Parthenon Temple of the Athens Acropolis, symbol of the ancient Greek civilization. Situated on top of a rocky hill, overlooking the city of Athens, the Parthenon is a temple built in the 5th century BC and originally dedicated to the goddess Athena.

It is the birth place of democracy and the heart of the Ancient Greek civilization. Athens is named after the Greek goddess Athena. She was the goddess of wisdom, war, and civilization and the patron of the city of Athens. 

When your tour is over you will have time to dine in a typical Greek restaurant, go shopping, go for a walk or just enjoy the impressive atmosphere.

Day 16. Athens 

A full day at leisure gives you the opportunity to take an optional cruise to the islands. This evening, celebrate the success of your Balkan tour during a farewell dinner at the hotel.

Day 17. Athens 

Breakfast at your hotel. Private transfer to Athens Airport.
