Overview of the shopping tour

Day 1

Arrival to Sofia airport. Transfer from the airport. Your chauffeur will drive you to the center of Sofia. Check in to your centrally located 4* or 5* hotel. 

Head out for a fascinating guided walking tour of Sofia with a little culinary surprise at the end of the walking tour – lunch at typical Bulgarian restaurant. The Manastirska Magernitsa, takes up a two-storey house, a summer and a winter garden with six dining halls. If you come in winter, search for a table near the fireplace for extra coziness. The food, including salads, meat grilled on living embers, and slowly cooked vegetable dishes, is cooked according to traditional recipes from all corners of the country. Evening is free for you to unwind and explore the town on your own.

Day 2

Breakfast. Day for shopping.

Sofia is a great place to visit not only for sightseeing but also for shopping. The small streets hide unique stores where you can find what you are looking for at a very attractive price. That is why we suggest you to spend a day in some of the most popular shopping places here. We provide value to shoppers as well as fun and informative, interesting day out in fascinating city of Sofia. 

In Sofia you are able to visit renowned shopping centres filled with international brand-name stores and coffee bars. The first place is the Central Sofia Market Hall which is situated in the city center, near the Baths (mineral water springs) facing the mosque and the synagogue. The Market Hall is covered market since 1911 and today is an important trade center. Today people go for shopping every day for fresh product and other items. Tsum Retail Centre – an upmarket for clothing, jewelleries, perfumes and homeware shops which was previously a state department store built in 1956. Take a walk along the Area where Designer’s Clothing shops are. Graf Ignatiev Street is the common shopping street in downtown and has a lot of small boutique shops for clothes, shoes, bookstores etc. Get the taste of local food and drinks during your shopping experience and learn about the social lifestyle, tradition and culture in one of the top affordable cities in Europe.

Lunch is on your own. After lunch we continue our shopping tour to one of the biggest MALL’s in Sofia by car.

Dinner at restaurant “Shtastliveca”. This is the restaurant that will make you feel at home.

Day 3

Breakfast.

Transfer to Thessaloniki, Greece.

Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece dates back to 315BC and is the capital of Central Macedonia. Through several thousand years, Thessaloniki has attained a large collection of iconic buildings from Byzantine, Paleochristian, Roman, Ancient Greek, Ottoman, and Sephardic Jewish origins. It has been known as a vibrant center of festivals and culture, and has one of the most inventive nightlife scenes in Greece. Anyone who visits Thessaloniki will be astounded by the many monuments to discover here. Here are some of the top tourist attractions in Thessaloniki that we are going to visit:

• White Tower – the symbol of the city. It formed a corner of the city’s Byzantine and Ottoman defenses before most of the walls were demolished late in the 19th century. During the period of Ottoman rule, it was a jail and the site of multiple tortures, and nicknamed the “tower of blood.” As an attempt to atone for this, the building was symbolically whitewashed and renamed the White Tower. Today the interior of the white tower serves as an extensive museum showing daily life in different eras of Thessaloniki. In addition to a number of artifacts, the third story has a replication of a Byzantine era home and its typical furnishings.
• Agios Dimitrios Church – legends say that its namesake, St Demetrius, was held prisoner, executed and dropped down a well by Roman soldiers. It is a five aisled basilica with a unique hexagonal nave known as a ciborium. Of particular interest here is a famous six-paneled mural that is one Thessaloniki’s finest mosaics, showing St Demetrius with children and the builders of the church. This is not only one of the largest churches in the city, it is considered to be one of the most historically and religiously important houses of worship in all of Thessaloniki.
• Rotunda of Galerius – a massive round building that was first a Roman temple, then a Christian church, then a mosque. After serving three religions, the Rotunda is now a museum.
• Aristotelous Square – this is the main city square. Today, the square is home to many celebrations and public gatherings.
• Hagia Sophia – one of the oldest continually standing buildings of Thessaloniki. It was built in the 8th century in the footprints of a church that was built in the 3rd century. The church was created during the Byzantine era based on the design of its more illustrious namesake in Constantinople. Today, it is one of the best remaining examples of the Greek domed churches of the time.
•  Museum of Byzantine Culture – this large, extensive museum covers thousands of artifacts from Prechristian and Byzantine times. These include frescoes, mosaics and wall paintings, rescued arches from historic buildings, ceramics and textiles.

Dinner at hotel restaurant Asteria. You can enjoy scrumptious dishes from both Greek and international cuisine, all skillfully crafted with the finest of ingredients. The terrace is with a beautiful view overlooking the Thermaic Gulf.

Day 4

Breakfast. Day for shopping in Thessaloniki.

Shopping is one thing that you will definitely enjoy during your stay in Thessaloniki. The city offers plenty of options. 

Your tour can start with the famous Tsimiski Avenue. Along Tsimiski you will find many boutiques, fashion shops, delicatessens, large bookstores and errant venders. “Plateia” (Plaza) shopping mall, with the famous “Odeon” multiplex cinemas, is also located on Tsimiski Avenue, near Aristotelous Square. Moreover, Tsimiski Av. hosts many large and impressive department stores. Mitropoleos Avenue is almost parallel to Tsimiski Avenue but has lesser extent. This road, along with Ermou Street and Proxenou Koromila Street, are a much more expensive choice as it concerns fashion. Agia Sofia Street should not be missed when it comes to shopping. Some less expensive fashion stores selling stylish clothes and accessories lie in this area. Egnatia Avenue is the place for those with a stricter budget. The street is home to many small fashion and accesories’ boutiques and shoe shops.

Another option for today is a short car ride to Mediterranean Cosmos which is the largest shopping center in the Balkans. This is where you can also eat or drink in any of the cafés or restaurants, have fun at the amusement park right across from the mall, or go crazy on a shopping spree.

Lunch and dinner are on your own. The streets of Thessaloniki are very popular with locals for its coffee shops and bars that stay open till late at night even on weekdays, so, if you feel like it, take a break and mingle with them in one of the stylish cafes.

Overnight.

Day 5

Breakfast at hotel Panorama.

Return transfer to Sofia.

Check in to your centrally located 4* or 5* hotel.

Enjoy some free time in the afternoon to explore the capital of Bulgaria even further or relax in your hotel room.

Tonight marks your last night together and you celebrate this tour with a dinner at the hotel restaurant to share your experiences and stories over a few glasses of Bulgarian wine.

Day 6

Check out of hotel.

Transfer to Sofia Airport.
